Writer’s Room (a product of Schaeman Creative LLC) respects the intellectual-property rights of others and expects its users to do the same. We respond to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

Reporting alleged infringement

If you believe content stored on the Service infringes a copyright you own or control, send a written notice to our copyright contact (below) that includes:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim was infringed.
  3. Identification of the material you claim is infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it.
  4. Your contact information (address, phone, email).
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use isn’t authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on its behalf.

Writer’s Room is a product of Schaeman Creative LLC. We are finalizing registration of our designated copyright agent with the U.S. Copyright Office; until then, email is the fastest way to reach us about a copyright concern.

What happens next

When we receive a valid notice, we may remove or disable access to the material and will make a reasonable effort to notify the user who posted it.

Counter-notice

If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, you may send us a counter-notice that includes your signature; identification of the removed material and where it appeared; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was removed by mistake or misidentification; your name, address, and phone number; and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, if outside the U.S., any district where we may be found) and will accept service of process from the complaining party. We may restore the material in 10–14 business days unless the original complainant files a court action.

Repeat infringers

We will, in appropriate circumstances, suspend or terminate the accounts of users who are repeat infringers.

Misuse

Knowingly sending a false notice or counter-notice can result in liability under Section 512(f) of the DMCA. Please be sure before you file.
