Privacy Policy

Henri Audio makes Writers Only, a songwriting app, and audio plugins like Utility Deck. Your lyrics, ideas, and mixes are personal and often unreleased, and we treat them that way. This policy covers the apps and this website. It explains what we collect, how we use it, and the control you have. We've kept it in plain English.
Our plugins collect nothing. Utility Deck runs entirely on your computer. It has no account, no sign-in, and no tracking — it never sends anything anywhere. Your audio never leaves your machine.
What we collect
- Your account — your email address, the display name you choose, and a securely hashed password (we never see your actual password).
- Your work — the songs, lyrics, sections, concepts, private notes, and voice recordings you create in the app.
- Collaboration — when you invite someone to a room, we store that membership so you can write together.
- Feedback you send — anything you submit through the in-app feedback form.
- Basic technical info — your platform (e.g. iOS) and error logs, only to keep the app running reliably.
- The waitlist — if you join a waitlist on this website, we store just your email address, so we can tell you when the thing you asked about is ready. Unsubscribe anytime, and we'll delete it on request.
Your work is yours. We store it for one reason: so it's saved, backed up, synced across your devices, and shareable with the collaborators you choose. It stays private to you and the people you invite — we never sell it, never share it with anyone else, and never use it to train AI. You can delete any of it, or your whole account, at any time.
How we use it
- To run the app — save your work, sync it across your devices, and let you collaborate.
- To send you necessary emails (sign-up confirmation, password reset, collaboration invites).
- To send occasional product updates only if you opt in — you can unsubscribe anytime.
- To respond to your feedback and support requests, and to fix bugs and improve the app.
The writing help
Your words stay yours. When you use the writing help, the relevant lyrics and notes are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate suggestions back to you. Your content is never used to train AI models, and we never sell it. It's used only to answer your request, in that moment.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data or show ads. We share information only with the service providers that make the app work, and only as needed:
- Supabase — secure hosting, database, file storage, and sign-in.
- Anthropic — powers the writing help (see above; no training on your content).
- Resend — sends our emails.
- Apple & Expo — app distribution and updates.
- Datamuse — powers the rhyme lookup. We send the word you type, plus up to five common words that recur in the song, so the rhymes returned fit what you're actually writing. Rhymes that fit your song use the same AI as stuck?, so the song you're working on goes along with them. It never trains on your writing.
We may also disclose information if required by law.
Your control over your data
- Edit or delete any song, note, or recording at any time inside the app.
- Delete your account from Account → Settings. This permanently erases your account and everything that's yours alone: your takes, melodies, private notes, concepts and settings, your profile and activity, and the songs only you are in. Songs you share with co-writers stay with them, including the lyrics you wrote and each song's current rough mix, and a shared song you started passes to the co-writer who's been in it the longest. Your co-writers may still see your name in a song's history. A few records are kept by your email address rather than your account: your place on the waiting list or beta list, a Founding Member spot promised to your address before you signed up, and a TestFlight invite sent to it. We remove them if you email team@henriaudio.com. If we've blocked an address for abuse, the block stays.

Keeping it safe
Your data is encrypted in transit, and access is locked down so you can only reach your own work and the rooms you've been invited to. We keep your information for as long as your account is active, and erase it when you delete your account, as described above.
Children
Writers Only is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app.
